Well it took me a week to get a real answer from EBGames/Gamestop via phone. According to them, since it is not necessary for the preview events, they are "saving customers money by shipping it with the game release" When I asked bout why their website says it ships in 24 hours, they said that only applies if all you are ordering is the starter kit. I pointed the supervisor to the guild wars .com page stating it was released for distribution on Sept 15 and that they are listed as a primary to get it, he said only those ordering ONLY the starter kit get it shipped within 24 hours. So...I told him that basically telling us we gotta pay 5 bucks more if we want it now and all he did was repeat again about it not being a pre order bonus item.

well ...bet you can guess what my next statement was....yup..I cancelled my order and reordered from Amazon. Sure I wont get the bonus items but I never used the ones from the Propheses preorder and only used the Factions weapons for bout a week. And if I need another characterslot, well I rather pay Anet for the slot than give anymore buisness to EBGames/Gamestop

I'm really really confused as to why, if it doesn't give you a whole lot you can use NOW, why the heck is it a "prerelease?" Either way, I've decided that it's all but pointless to run around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to find this thing when it's not gonna give me anything early.

The first time with factions, I ordered from Amazon (preorder + preorder pack) and was sorely disappointed when they SAID they were shipping them separately but didn't ship the preorder pack early so I couldn't jump on factions early like the preorder would have allowed me to. I vowed I wouldn't go back to amazon for preorders...

But now, why not? Theres no reason for me to get this prerelease early, and EB and Gamestop (really I think by little fault of theirs) have no idea what's going on. I'm just gonna go ahead and preorder my crap on Amazon, and get it when I get it. I'll use my time to track down the PC Gamer Nov issue for a minipet instead

Update for the Gamestop on Austin Highway in San Antonio:

They have the Nightfall Pre-release in stock (Yea!); it will cost $5 (Boo!).

Went to Spaceworld in Norway, and since i dont speak norwegian, my girlfriend asked for that bonus thing. Well, i didnt need translation for the vendors reaction towards my gf: i have no idea what shes talking about so im gonna make her feel like an absolute idiot by laughing at her and not checking the pc.

Not true, at least not here in Canada. I got my 2 Factions preorder packs from EB games, but, I had to put $5.00 down on two preorders to get them.

From what I've heard from store managers here.. The latest directive from EBgames Managers at higher levels is to NOT give out the preorders to anybody who preorders UNTIL the game is released (to give them with the game) (which makes no f-ing sense whatsoever in my books.. A PRE-order is just that.. stuff to get you hyped about buying the actual game)

Personally, I think EB Games /Gamestop is just being money-grubbing Hoe s. The preorder pack is supposed to spark interest in the game, and be given out at minimal to no cost. However... EBGames KNOWS that the guild-wars preorders have had valuable things in them since the time of the first Guildwars release (Prophecies), and they KNOW they can milk this one for all its worth. They were probably getting people in who were putting down their (insanely stupid) minimum $5 for the preorder, then taking their preorder packages and never buying from their $hitty, overpriced store (Like myself, -- they never bothered to contact me about my Factions CE when it came in) . So, this time, they won't give em out until you buy the actual game.. Which again, in my mind is total BS..

Gamespot, and all these companies out there paid NOTHING for these preorder packs.. Therefore they should not be CHARGING extravagant amounts for them..

Hell, I got 3 free Guild Wars Prophecies Preorders from Futureshop and Bestbuy here in Canada... (ok, I paid $0.03, sorry). A company should not be charging you for something they got for free, then not delivering on their part of the bargain by witholding the damn preorder package. EBGames will never get any of my serious business. I'd rather go somewhere else where they actually value their customers and want to make them happy.

Yeah that picture was on GAMESTOP desk and they told me it was the bonus pack...when i preordered they said they didnt have it>.<grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I was not expecting to get the 'pre-release' pack, as I was expecting to have to pay for it, but my local EB called me and said 'pick 'em up.' I went to the store and had a brief conversation with the manager there, and he assured me that it was free with my pre-order. That being said, I was happy to take it off his hands.

Your mileage may vary...

The Gamestop in my area has the Bonus Pack, and if you pre-order Nightfall for $5 (deductible from the price of the game when it's released) at the same time as buying the Bonus Pack, there is also a $5 reduction in price on the game; at least that's how they explained it to me. Not sure what their price on the game is, if it is more than 50 bucks, I will be raising some hell.

Hi, I pre-ordered my nightfall game from Amazon.co.uk . It said that they supply the pre order pack, however, is it like the orgional GW games where it just got sent to you? Or do you have to buy it seperatly this time? It's just that I still havn't got the pack yet, is this normal?

The main problem I have seen with the Pre-order packs for Nightfall (and saw with Factions), is that not all retailers have the pack available for purchase on the date the pack is supposed to be released. Anet and NCSoft need to do a better job of making sure all retailers have the pack out on the shelves on its release date. I work at Target and we didn't get the Factions pack until two weeks prior to the full retail release. Same seems to be happening with Nightfall. I found one Gamestop who just happened to have the pack out (by accident as I found since I was told that they wouldn't be available until the full release of the game next month).

There also seems to be the ongoing problem of the cost of these Packs. Anet says they're free with the money you pay for them being deducted from the cost of the full retail game. However, one Gamestop manager I spoke with showed me an e-mail stating that the Packs are not free but the $5 charge for them is strictly for the pack, and not a "down payment" as it were. Again, this needs to be cleared up between Anet, NCSoft, and the retailers. Even on Gamestops website, you can see the in prices for the combo preorder/game that you are being charged extra for the preorder package.

Well Amazon America already sold out and they no longer have it listed; you're probably better off looking elsewhere.

To Hanok Odbrook: Each retailer decides when they want to put them out and they decide how much to charge for it. Anet never said they were free; in fact the reason they're now calling it a prerelease bonus pack is that it is officially a seperate retail package and each retailer decides what they want to charge for it.

There is no deadline; but after Nightfall goes live; it'll probably be harder to find them.
